BLACKPINK fans have praised Jennie after she removed a barrier to make a meet and greet experience worthwhile for a devoted listener.

Whenever dropping a new album, it’s common for a K-pop group to hold a singing or meet and greet. The event is a unique opportunity for avid fans to interact directly with their favorite pop stars. Usually held in the city of Seoul, fans bring their albums or posters for the groups to autograph and may get a chance to ask a few questions.

Following a two-year hiatus and covid-19, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa held their first signing event with fans, called BLINKS.

It came after BLACKPINK dropped their sophomore album on September 16. All eight tracks managed to top the US and UK charts. The girls are also gearing up for their upcoming tour, which will begin on October 15, 2022, and until June 21, 2023.

After three years, the popular K-pop quartet held their first fan sign event to promote the sophomore album, Born Pink, in Seoul, at the IFC Mall North Atrium.

The event saw a limited number of lucky BLINKS come face-to-face to their icons. Others lined up around the shopping mall to take pictures of the stars.

In between interactions, BLACKPINK was laughing with listeners as they signed albums. The girls also paid attention to those waiting outside, waving and occasionally smiling at the cameras.

Following the pandemic, it is common for some K-pop idols to still have plastic barriers between themselves and fans as a safety requirement. The barriers were part of a list of measures for guests and stars – including some people wearing face masks.

BLINKS praised Jennie on social media after she asked to remove the transparent barrier. After asking someone nearby to confirm it was safe to remove the barrier, another person picks it up. This was because the girls were seen struggling to hear and talk to their fans. Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa shortly removed theirs.

Following their successful comeback, the group racked up more than 170 million streams on Spotify in their first week. They also became the first K-pop girl group to top the UK charts.

Next month, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will be kicking off their world tour starting in Seoul. The quartet will then hold shows in seven different states in the US, followed by another seven stops in Europe, nine shows in Asia, two in Australia, and one in New Zealand.

In total, the BORN PINK tour will last seven months. The girls will, however, take a one-month break in February and April.
